Since the creation of MAVA in 1994, we have disbursed roughly CHF 408 million in grants for conservation. The charts below show a breakdown of how we have invested our funds historically (over the past 18 years) and in 2012. In the future, the percentages could shift depending on the projects we select on an ongoing basis. 

In order to improve our ability to evaluate project outcomes, we are strengthening our focus on strong project design. This will affect how we examine and choose projects and follow-up their implementation and final evaluation. For our partners, that means project submissions will need to have clear goals and measures of success to help us in the selection process.
