Our Values
Our focus on sustainability means we seek co-funders and implementation partners with whom we can engage in ambitious, long-term, strategy-driven work. There are four fundamental values to which we aspire in everything we do.
These are:
Unifying
We gather the relevant key players to address biodiversity conservation challenges and engage with local civil society organisations and the conservation community. We aim to use our ability to convene key players to leverage support for conservation action.
Empowering
We are convinced that nature conservation projects can only be successful if rooted locally, respecting local cultures and building the capacity of local organisations. At the same time, we aim to be resolutely open and non-discriminatory on grounds of gender, age, religion or ethnicity.
Flexible
With our ability to mobilise funds, rapid decision-making, understanding of the need for adaptive management and willingness to support “unfashionable” projects, we are able to fund innovative projects and respond to opportunities and emergencies.
Persevering
We have built credibility and strength over the years by being a long-lasting and trusted funding partner for many conservation organisations. We aim for effective, long-term conservation successes delivering tangible results at key milestones.
