The project selection process begins with concept forms, which we accept at any time of the year. We review each one we receive to see how well it matches our strategic priorities, retaining the ones that do while declining the others.

Those we keep go to regular meetings of our internal Allocations Team, whose members either decline requests directly, ask that they be revised or ask for full proposals. For the latter, we are happy then to help applicants prepare this document if needed. There is no guarantee of funding if we ask for a full proposal.

Once the full proposal is complete it goes back to our team for review and a decision on whether or not we will allocate MAVA funds.

We aim to give a first response to project concepts within two-to-three months of submission. Our response to full project proposals should come six weeks after being sent in. While we do our best to meet these targets, there can be some variation in timing due to heavy flow of project submissions or timing of allocation meetings.
