While financial support is vital, we do much more than simply funding our partners. We also accompany them on their conservation journey, helping them develop the skills they need and strengthening their ability to deliver.
Our success is founded on trust and collaboration, as well as respect for local culture and the close involvement of local people and communities. Protecting emblematic species and tackling threats, responding rapidly and applying sound science, encouraging collaboration and staying the course are our trademark.
And as we move toward ending our grant-making in 2022, we are putting greater emphasis on funding project portfolios – delivered by groups of partners working together, and collaboratively funded by donor consortia. Flexible and open, we are committed to doing whatever it takes to deliver lasting change.
We conserve biodiversity for the benefit of people and nature by funding, mobilising and strengthening our partners and the conservation community.
We envisage a future where biodiversity flourishes, especially in the Mediterranean, coastal West Africa and Switzerland; the global economy supports human prosperity and a healthy planet; and the conservation community is thriving.
We bring key players together to address conservation challenges and mobilise support for action.
We believe conservation success is rooted in respecting local cultures and strengthening local organisations.
We mobilise funds, adapt and act quickly, making us agile and able to support innovative initiatives.
We deliver long-term conservation success through pursuing key milestones and tangible results.
