Project description:
This project focuses on two types of practices implemented at landscape level and prevalent throughout the Mediterranean. Its first and main aim is to promote the practice of mobile pastoralism through providing irrefutable proof of the link between mobile pastoralism and biodiversity richness at Mediterranean wide level; by proposing adapted solutions in terms of governance, rights, and recognition for the practice; through influencing policy; and through creating links with international initiatives and foras dealing with mobile pastoralism. The second aim of the project is to explore whether some religious and sacred practices implemented at landscape level have fostered biodiversity conservation in the Mediterranean.
